Hell: Annihilation or Eternal Conscious Punishment? Unbelievable? 3 Mar 2012 – 03 March 2012 – Chris Date vs. Steve Jeffery

August 12, 2013

Chris Date is the host of the Theopologetics podcast. Until recently he believed in Hell as a place of never-ending punishment. But now he has become convinced that the Bible better supports an annihilationist view – that the damned will, in most respects, cease to exist.
Steve Jeffery is Pastor Of Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Southgate. He holds to the traditional view that those in hell continue to be eternally conscious of their punishment.
They debate the nature of hell. Is annihilationism a heresy? What is Gehenna? Does the ‘fire’ of Revelation comsume or ruin? What did Jesus say about it?

Debate on the Doctrine of Hell – James White vs Roger and Faith Forster

August 12, 2013

What do Christians believe about the immortality of the soul and the justification for punishment? Has hell been lost as a doctrine in the modern church?

In their second inter-Christian encounter James White and Roger and Faith Forster explain their different view of hell. James White holds to an “eternal conscious torment” view – that those in hell are punished for all eternity. Roger and Faith Forster believe in “conditional immortality” – that only those in Christ are granted eternal life and those who go to hell cease to exist.

“The punishment of the damned will actually be torment forever and ever.” Hiram Diaz from Grassroots Apologetics affirms. Chris Date, host of the Theopologetics Podcast, denies. Moderated by Mike Felker of The Apologetic Front.

Annihilationism vs. Eternal Conscious Torment – Chris Date vs. Michael Willenborg

August 12, 2013

“Join Devin and Melissa Pellew each week at they discuss topics related to biblical theology, Christian apologetics and worldview issues. This week, we will feature a cross- fire debate on the topic: “Does the Bible Teach Annihilationism?”. Do the lost cease to exist after the Judgment or will they suffer eternal torment? Defending the annihilationist position will be Chris Date, contributer at RethinkingHell.com and host of the Theopologetics podcast and defending the traditional view of hell will be Michael Willenborg, philosopher, who received his Master’s in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary. This will be a friendly and informative debate so you don’t want to miss it!”
